Idris Elba has won the weirdly coveted title of People's "Sexiest Man Alive,Watch Pinku katto: Futoku aishite fukaku aishite Online" and took the opportunity to get you to do one thing for him: vote in the midterm elections.

The 46-year-old actor, who we've campaigned hard for in previous years, tweeted his sweet, sweet victory on Monday, taking out the crown formerly worn by Grammy Award-nominee Blake Shelton.

Channelling the same strategy as the likes of Amy Schumer for one, Elba took advantage of a highly public moment to urge Americans to vote in the midterms on Nov. 6.

"I'm honoured & thankful," Elba tweeted. "What’s even more important is your vote in the midterm elections. Your vote can make a difference!"
